About me
Hiking, especially solo hiking, started as an obsessive distraction from life. These days it’s a reconnection, to recharge and embracing solitude.
My thirties seemed like it was straight out of a rom-com movie - the break-up of a long-term relationship, introspection, finding new hobbies, dating again, and traveling to a foreign country to ‘find myself’. Peru was my India. Damn, I did it all. I even wrote a book about it, I called it, ‘STUCK: Friends, Loves and the Obscurity of In Between.’ Pretty catchy isn’t it? Looking back, that season was so cathartic, full of growth and gave me the space to become the woman I am today.
Today, I’m a 40-something creative, hiker and poet. I have creaky knees, a big butt, chunky thighs and shakin’ more jelly than Destiny’s Child. I still love to hike, but I no longer see it as a distraction from life. I write about my hiking and trave adventures in The Local Tourist blogs or catch up on my life and love in Always Looking Up. I’m also available for poetry performances and speaking events - let’s connect.
Catch you on the next adventure!
